The rest takes place in the same book but is pretty seperate so i'm starting a new paragraph.

The next to chapters are celebration and then the hobbits return home to find its a madhouse.  They put it back to normal and live happily ever after.  Bilbo and Frodo leave on a journey all ring bearers go on and Sam returns home to his new family and says "I'm home."

I give this book ☆s.

My review is that the end is to choppy.  Sams story does not make sense.  He is Frodos servent but also his friend?

I cant wait to see the hobbit movie

Safe At Home

This is a review of the book Safe At Home by Mike Lupica.

The book is about a boy named Nick who loves baseball, he also likes comic books but not as much.  Nick was adopted when he was 9 and his adoptive parents know nothing about baseball.  his friends names are Gracie and Jack.

The book starts with the story of Nick's love for baseball.  Once it's back in the present Nick is watching the varsity team.  Nick finds out that the varsity catcher broke his wrist and the coach tells Nick to come with him.  Nick becomes the varsity catcher and leaves JV.  Once the first practice starts Nick can't throw anything and is becoming bad at baseball...

I give this book 3☆s.

My review is that so much happens but so little happens at the same time.

Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great

Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great is the prequel to Fudge-a-Mania in Judy Blume's Fudge series.

Plot:

Sheila's family decided to take a Summer trip to Tarrytown and stay in one of Buzz's friend's house. Sheila was not excited, at first, but she seemed to feel better and started to plan what her room would look like. When she got there, she noticed she would need to face her biggest fears: spiders, swimming, and dogs. Professor Egran had a dog named Jennifer and Sheila thought that her summer was ruined. Sheila also ended up in one of Professor Egran's son's rooms where every night she heard Jennifer howling. She made some friends though such as: Mouse Ellis (fun fact: Mouse was originally going to go on the vacation with Sheila in Fudge-a-Mania but comes down with the chicken pox) who was a champion yo-yo player and her sister Betsy who was a champion swimmer and knew how to do perfect dives. Betsy was also allergic to dogs so she made herself a pretend dog named Ootch. Sheila was also friends with twins named Jane and Sondra.

Sheila is forced to take swimming lessons. She couldn't swim but she was too afraid to admit it to anyone so she said that she can swim really well but she doesn't feel like doing it. She thought that she would sink and it would be a waste of money to make her take swim lessons, but then she heard that if she can't swim by the end of the summer, all of the money that her parents paid her swim teacher, Marty, would be taken back. Sheila didn't want her swim teacher to lose money because of her.

When Sheila went to Summer camp she said that she will make a camp newspaper. But she soon noticed that she would need to use a stencil and use a mimeograph machine. Nobody really liked the newspaper and two boys finished the crossword puzzle and wanted the big prize for beating it. Sheila was so confident that no one would beat the crossword puzzle that she didn't have a prize. So she just let the two of them take over the newspaper company. There were a few more misadventures including:

Sheila and her friends played indoor hide-and-seek and got in trouble.

They had a slumber party and fought each other after a game of Slam Book.

Sheila tried to prank Libby by putting toothpaste on the toilet seat but her plan backfired.

She went on a hay ride and got really scared about the headless horseman.

Later, they figured out that Jennifer was going to have puppies and her family could take one. Libby really wanted to but Sheila hated the idea. Their vacation was almost over and Sheila needed to take her swim test. Sheila thought that it was impossible but she passed it.

Her family had a goodbye party right before they left. Sheila told herself that if they got a dog and even if it was cute and fluffy and called Jake she would never love him or her. (Sheila got a dog named Jake and it looked like she actually loved him).

I give this book 5 stars ★★★★★

This was a great book. What's weird is that in the episode of the TV series where Peter gets Turtle, Sheila is not scared at all. What I think is cool about this book is that you see the world of Fudge from another P.O.V., Sheila's. In the four main Fudge books, Sheila's boasting about how great and flawless she is but when you read her perspective, she really isn't what you think she is.

Double Fudge

Double Fudge is the fourth and final book in the Fudge series by Judy Blume.

Plot:

Fudge has gotten obsessed with money. He was also too young to understand it. For instance, he didn't know that ATMs take money out of your bank account, he thought that you can just get free money. He also made "Fudgebucks" out of paper and tried to use them in real life.

Peter also got news from Jimmy Fargo that he and his dad were moving to SoHo. Peter was kind of sad but he felt better when he went over and saw a big floor to play Sock Hockey with Jimmy. Muriel suggested that they should take Fudge to Washington. Fudge said using Fudgebucks, he's going to buy Washington and rename it "Fudgeington." In a gift shop, they met Warren's long-lost cousin, Howie Hatcher. Howie Hatcher called Warren "Tubby" and had a wife named Eudora and two twin daughters, Flora and Fauna who everyone called: "The Heavenly Hatchers." They lived in Hawaii. They also had one other kid who was 3 and 1/2 whose name was Farley Drexel just like Fudge! Once the twins heard what everyone called Fudge they wanted to call their Farley "Mini Fudge." Fudge had a tantrum screaming and accusing them of "stealing his name." He then said that they can call Farley Farley, Drexel, or FD, but they couldn't call him Fudge. That was what Fudge's teacher, Rat Face said in Superfudge. Flora and Fauna decided to call him, Mini Farley.

When the Hatcher family left Washington, they went to Frank Fargo's "Baby Feet" show. After the show, they got back to the apartment and received news from the elevator man, Henry. He said that they had visitors. When they went up to their apartment, they saw Howie's family with sleeping bags. Flora and Fauna said that they researched New York's "culture." Howie found Flora and Fauna eating cereal with artificial flavors and made them apologize for "poisoning their bodies." Flora and Fauna went to Peter's school to study about New York and Peter felt really embarrassed when they introduced themselves as Peter Hatcher's cousins. Jimmy told Peter that his divorced dad is getting married to Giraffe Neck which was the art store owner in Princeton form Superfudge.

Uncle Feather had not been speaking for a while and everyone was thinking of ways to make him speak again. One day when Anne and Warren were out, Mini Farley let Uncle Feather out of his cage and he flew into a closed window and got knocked out. Peter and Fudge helped Howie get to the animal doctor and when Uncle Feather regained consciousness, he began to talk again. Howie later told Warren how responsible his sons were.

When Halloween came around, the apartment got a new automatic elevator. Fudge went trick-or-treating with his friend, Melissa, and Mini Farley. Peter and the Heavenly Hatchers went too, but not for trick-or-treating. Fudge, Melissa, and Mini Farley ended up getting stuck in the elevator with Mrs. Osterman but they ended up getting out.

After Halloween, Howie and his family were ready to leave. Fudge naturally lost his first tooth and can't wait to get money from the tooth fairy. But later, he couldn't find his tooth. Mini Farley told everybody that he swallowed Fudge's tooth and Fudge had a tantrum. After the Howies leave, Fudge told Peter how much of a disaster Mini Farley was because he let Uncle Feather loose and swallowed his tooth. Peter told Fudge how much of a disaster he was when he let Dribble loose and then swallowed him. In the first book, Fudge swallowed something of Peter's and in this book, the finale, the same thing happened to him.

In the last chapter, Fudge showed Peter a box full of teeth that he found in their parents' room. Peter said that those were his and the tooth fairy would not take them. When Peter took the box from Fudge, he decided to put it under his pillow because hey, you never know.

I rate this book 4 stars ★★★★

This is one of the better books in the Fudge series. My favorite one is Superfudge though. On the cover of the book, it shows Fudge and Mini Farley getting along great but in the actual book they don't.

The next book I will review is the prequel to Fudge-a-Mania called Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great.

Bye!

The Two Towers

Hello this is a review of the second lord of the rings book.  Each lord of the rings book has two books inside it.

Part 1: Frodo and Sam have just left the fellowship to go to Mordor alone.  Meanwhile the fellowship is atacked by trolls.  Aragorn finds Boromir slain and discovers that Pippin and Merry have been kidnapped.  Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli bury Boromir and then follow the trail of the orcs.  they find a wall and find out that they are at Rohan and meet King Theoden.  Meanwhile Pippin and Merry escape and meet up with an Ent and stay there for awhile.  Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli leave Rohan and meet with Gandalf who somehow survived the battle in Moria.  They then meet up with Merry and Pippin.  they all start to return to Rohan but Gandalf and Pippin head to Minas Tirith.

Part 2: Frodo and Sam are heading twords Mordor and run into Gollum who wants the ring.  Frodo and Sam force Gollum to help them and they keep moving.  Once the are out of the desert they eat and drink well in a swamp.  They then meet with Farimir, Boromir's brother.  Gollum tries to eat fish from a sacred lake and almost gets killed.  Once they get to the bottom of Mordor they go into a cave entrance.  In the cave Gollum betrays then and they get attacked by a giant spider.  Gollum dies and the spider goes back into its nest.  Sam thinks Frodo is dead and takes the ring.  He decides he can't do it and returns to find out Frodo is alive but captured.

I give this book 4☆s.

This book was better then the last because it has more fighting.  In the first half of the book it starts to bloody.

My next review will be of the last book.

The Fudge series

This is a review of the whole Fudge series.  My brother is doing a review of them, too.  This is Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing through Double Fudge.  I'm going to mark where each book starts.

Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing: The book starts with Peter (the main character) winning a pet turtle at his friend Jimmy's birthday party.  When he is walking home, which is two apartments down the hall, he names the turtle Dribble.  Every chapter is another adventure focusing on Peter, Fudge (Peter's younger brother), Jimmy and Sheila (Peter's rival).  In the last chapter, Fudge swallows Dribble and Dribble dies.  Peter's mom and dad feel sorry for him and buy him a dog, which Peter names Turtle.

I give this book 3☆s.

My review is that the book seems too much like a set up even though there were no planned sequels.

Superfudge: The book starts with Peter's mom and dad announcing that they are having a baby.  Peter is so mad he starts to run away but decides to stay until the baby is born.  A few chapters later the baby is born, her name is Tamara Roxanne but everyone calls her Tootsie.  Then they decide to move to Princeton, New Jersey for a year.  Peter and Jimmy get into a fight about the whole thing but then they make up.  Once they are in New Jersey both Peter and Fudge make new friends. Peter meets a kid named Alex and Fudge meets a kid named Daniel, who is a real jerk.  There are many stories including Jimmy visting and the last chapter in which Fudge and Daniel ride there bikes on the highway and go to the deli and bakery. In the end Tootsie learns to say yuck and when the dad asks if Tootsie wants to move back to New York they think her yuck means York and they move back.
I give this book 4☆s.

My review is that it is different from the last in a good way.  For example,

Fudge-A-Mania: This book starts with Peter's mom and dad saying that for vacation they are going to rent a house in Maine for 2 weeks with grandma. Maine was also where Sheila's family was going to.  Peter's mom tells him he can bring a friend so Peter calls Jimmy, Jimmy says he can go for the second week.  Once up in Maine they find out that they are sharing the Tubman's house to which Peter is horrified.  Peter and Fudge meet a kid named Mitzi and her grandma, Fudge and Mitzi become fast friends and Peter finds out that her grandpa was a major league baseball player, and that on Sundays he plays ball at the field.  Peter develops a crush on the part time librarian Isobel and Grandma and Buzzy senior (Sheila's grandpa) fall in love.  Halfway through the book Jimmy and his dad come and the Grandma and Buzzy senior's wedding is announced.  During the ball game Grandma throws Peter out to win the game.  After the wedding Peter and Sheila agree that even if they are step-cousins they will always hate each other.

I give this book 5☆s.

My review is that the wedding felt rushed.

Double Fudge: The book starts with Fudge being addicted to money. He makes his own money called Fudge Bucks and tries to buy stuff with it.  After a tantrum in the shoe store they go to Washigton DC.  After going on a tour of the money making process they go to the gift shop.  In the gift shop they meet dad's long lost cousin Howie.  Howie calls dad Tubby and has a wife and 3 kids.  His twin daughters Flora and Fauna are 12 and his 3 and a half year old son's name is Farley Drexel, which is Fudge's name. Howie says that they are on a trip around the country and that in 2 weeks they will be going to the city. Dad invites them to stay with them.  When the Howies (that's what they are called in the book) are staying with them there are many adventures including a Halloween mishap. In the last chapter Mini Fudge swallows Fudge's tooth and the Howies leave.

I give this book 3☆

My review is that  it ends with a proper ending to a series.

There is a Double Fudge website.

Next time  I am reviewing The Lord Of The Rings

The Fellowship Of The Ring

This is a review of The Fellowship Of The Ring which is the first book in the Lord Of The Rings series.

The book starts with the explanation of what happened at the end of The Hobbit.  Bilbo Baggins is now 110 years old and will be turning 111 in a couple of days (111 is a very special age for hobbits).  His nephew Frodo who lives with him has the same birthday as Bilbo and is turning 33 (another special age for hobbits).  At their birthday party Bilbo uses the One Ring to disappear and sneak into his house.  In his house he meets with Gandalf The Grey and leaves the One Ring behind for Frodo.  Gandalf gives Frodo the One Ring and then leaves.  About 17 years later Gandalf returns and Frodo leaves on an adventure to Mt. Mordor to destroy the One Ring...

Members of the fellowship
1 Frodo the Hobbit
2 Sam the Hobbit
3 Pippen the Hobbit
4 Merry the Hobbit
5 Aragon the Man
6 Boromer the Man
7 Legolas the Elf
8 Gimli the Dwarf
9 Gandlaf the Grey

I give this book 4☆s

My review is that there's too much walking and way too much talking, I hear that the other 2 are more about fighting, I hope that's right.

3 Below

3 Below is the sequel to the book Floors by Patrick Carmen.

This book is about two boys named Leo and Remi exploring the subbasement of the Whippet Hotel to get the money they need to pay Mrs. Sparks, the villain, at the end of the first book.

The book starts with Clarence getting married to Pilar on the roof of the Whippet Hotel.  After they are wedded Merganzer D. Whippet arives and tells them their honeymoon car has arrived and they leave.  Merganzer then walks over to Leo and Remi. Leo is Clarence's son and the current owner of the hotel and Remi is Pilar's son.  Merganzer talks for a bit and then leaves.  Remi's robot friend, Blop, tells them to go to the gift table after they eat some cake.  On the table they find a note from Merganzer telling them to get $700,000 to pay for taxes.  He also says he needs 4 floggers, a zip rope and the iron box from the subbasement. After Mr.Yancey, Mrs.Yancey and Jane Yancey arrive at the hotel and stay in the cake room, Leo and Remi take off.  The rest of the book is about Leo and Remi going into the jungle room, Dr.Flart's dungeon, and the realm of gears.

I give this book 3☆s.

Here is a link to the website.

I did not like that there were many obvious plot devices that I will not mention because they are spoilers.

Next I will reveiw the whole Fudge series in one post.

Then the Fellowship Of The Rings.

P.S. I think there will be a third book in this series out at one point.

The Moffat Museum

The Moffat Museum is the last book in the Moffat series.

The plot of this book is that Jane, Rufus and Joe are all sad that in a few weeks their older sister Sylvie is getting married.  They decide to turn the old barn in their backyard into the Moffat Museum.  The first 3 chapters are about the museum, the next 2 are about Sylvie's wedding, the 2 after that are about Jane visiting Sylvie's new house in New York, then there are 3 chapters about random adventures with the 3 remaining Moffats.

I give this 2 and a half ☆s.

Review: this book is not as funny as the other three and some of the stuff that happens would not happen in real life.

This is the last book in the series, next I'm doing the Fudge series that my brother reviewed.

Rufus M.

Rufus M. is the third book in the Moffat series.

If you remember that in the first book it is about all four Moffats, the second is about Jane, and the third is about Rufus.  This book is slightly longer then the others and a bit more comedic then the rest.

It starts out with the story of how Rufus learned to write, then there are many other short stories in the book, all focusing on Rufus.  One story is about an all girls baseball team that he joins.  One is about him finding 2 dollars in the ice (this takes place during world war II so that's a lot of money) and buying food with it.  One is about beans that he grows and they really grow a lot.  One is about Rufus and the cardboard boy, his friend/enemy going to the amusement park for free.  One is about Rufus and Jane making popcorn to make some money but instead every kid in town starts selling it too! The last story in it is about the Moffats sitting by the fire thinking about the future after the war is over.

I give this book 5☆s.

It was great and it was by far the best of the four books.

The next book I review is the finale of the series: The Moffat Museum.  It was published 20 years after the other 3, but it still takes place at the same time.

See ya!

Fudge-a-Mania

This was the third book in the Fudge series called Fudge-a-Mania by Judy Blume.

Plot:

Peter Warren Hatcher got a surprise from his brother, Farley Drexel (Fudge) Hatcher. He said he's getting married to Peter's rival, Sheila Tubman. He got even worse news from his parents, they were going on a three week vacation to Maine WITH the Tubmans.

Peter was allowed to bring along a friend though, so he chose his best friend, Jimmy Fargo. Jimmy didn't really want to go because he didn't want to be with the "queen of cooties" but Peter convinced him by saying their houses are probably separated by a forest and that his grandma could teach him how to do a handstand.

Jimmy decided to go for a week or two. Once the Hatcher family: Peter, Fudge, Tamara Roxanne (Tootsie), Warren (their dad), Anne (their mom), Muriel (grandma), Turtle (the dog), and Uncle Feather (Fudge's myna bird), got to the vacation house they noticed that it was connected to the Tubman's house (Sheila, her older sister Libby, her mom Jean, her dad Buzz, her grandpa Buzzy, and her dog Jake).

Peter thought Sheila was afraid of dogs but she claimed she only hated "big, smelly dogs." Peter didn't know what to do because he had promised Jimmy a forest in between the houses. Later on, Uncle Feather escaped his cage because Sheila opened all of the windows and Peter and Fudge needed to look for him. Peter and Fudge met Mrs. A and her grand daughter, Mitzi, on the way. Fudge and Mitzi became best friends.

Peter was most surprised that they were related to a famous Boston Red Sox center fielder, Big Aphel (Judy Blume made this character up.) Mitzi said you could play games with him on Sundays but you had to pass the over-under test. You needed to be over four and under one hundred and four. Peter was so happy he called Jimmy to tell him. Jimmy wasn't too excited to play with Big Aphel because he struck out a lot.

Mitzi later told Fudge that she had a "monster spray" that kept away monsters. After Fudge heard that, he stopped the wedding between him and Sheila because he only wanted to get married so she could scare monsters away. There were other short stories in the book including:

Warren falling of a boat and into the freezing cold water.

Turtle getting sprayed by a skunk and wetting everybody else.

Peter falling in love with the assistant librarian, Isobel or Izzy.

Peter thinking of a toxic-gas-coming-out-of-toilets-story to tell Jimmy.

Tootsie walking around Frank Fargo's (Jimmy's dad who is an artist) painting and giving him a new art series called "Baby Feet."

Fudge eating tons of blueberries and getting sick.

Peter swallowing a fly and becoming a member of the I.S.A.F club (I Swallowed A Fly club.)

Fudge's team getting creamed at the Sunday Baseball game.

Fudge and Mitzi creating "Fudge-a-Mania" by spinning around in circles.

Fudge having Peter make him a book, "Tell Me a Fudge."

The grand finale story was that Buzzy Senior and Peter's grandma were going to get married. Peter and Sheila didn't want that to happen because that would mean they would be step-cousins. In the end, Peter and Sheila agreed that even though they were kind of related, they would still always hate each other.

There was a movie made for this book and there were so many changes and I will list some of them.

Movie Differences:

Libby did not exist.

Peter was not outside with Fudge and Mitzi when they start "fudge-a-mania"

Tootsie did not exist.

Frank Fargo basically did nothing.

On the boat, instead of Peter and his grandma being the pointers, Peter, Jimmy, and Sheila were.

After the wedding, Sheila's mom started a food fight.

I personally liked the book better. There was also an error in the movie. In the movie, Fudge and Mitzi were only four and in the book they were five, so in the movie they could not have passed the over-under test.

Review: Four stars ✩✩✩✩

The book was pretty good but there were things that I didn't quite enjoy. It was kind of cliché that Fudge was one of the team captains in the baseball game. When the "baby feet" sequence happened, I thought that Tootsie, like Fudge in the first book, got way too much attention. In the first book, Peter said that he didn't believe in cooties and he did in this book.   Super Fudge was my favorite of the books so far but maybe Double Fudge will surpass that.

Bye!

Oh, and here's a link to the Movie.

The Middle Moffat

This is a review of the sequel to The Moffats.  It is called The Middle Moffat.

If you read my review of the first book you might remember that it focused on all four Moffats, well, not this one.  This one was about Jane and the oldest man in Cranbury.

In the first chapter, Jane was thinking about how she does not have a nickname.  Sylvie was the oldest, Joe was the oldest son, and Rufus was the youngest.  Jane wanted to be called the middle Moffat and tried it out when a girl named Clara and her brother Brud walked down the street and she introduced herself to them.

They run away because they thought that Jane was weird.  Then the oldest man in Cranbury walked by and Jane introduced herself as the mysterious middle Moffat.  The oldest man pretended to be a detective and Jane decided to help him live to be 100 years old.

There were many chapters in the book that were not about the oldest man including: Jane saving tons of roller skates, Jane pretending to be Santa to save Rufus from being disappointed, and Jane winning a basketball championship game.
At the end the oldest man turns 100 and tells Jane he will am for 200.
I give this book 3stars.

I think there should have been more Joe in the story.

Riding The Bus With My Sister

I was quite moved by parts of this book/memoir by Rachel Simon. The author showed a lot of courage and guts in processing not only what she saw unfold before her eyes during the year spent riding the bus with her sister, but also, the story of her own life, which although inextricably linked with her sister, included challenges that predated the birth of her sister.

I appreciated the honesty and insights that spilled forth from the pages...it is a gift to be able to begin to understand what it is like to have a sibling with disabilities. And, to catch glimpses, through the eyes and ears and heart of a sibling, of what it could be like growing up and into adulthood with a cognitive disability.

 ☆☆☆☆ (= really liked it)

Superfudge

This book is called Superfudge and it is written by Judy Blume. I talked a lot about this book in my latest review which was the prequel, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.

Summary:

Peter Warren Hatcher and his brother Fudge get a suprise from their parents, a new baby. Both of them don't like the idea. Peter tries to run away because he doesn't want to live with two Fudges. Fudge doesn't want the baby to be born because he wants to stay being "mommy's little baby." Then the baby was born and they named her Tootsie. After that, they get even more news. They're moving to Princeton, New Jersey. Like in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, there are multiple misadventures, some good, some bad. But, now, I will give you the review.

Review: four and a half stars ☆☆☆☆▵.

An excellent book altogether. I liked that Fudge and his friend get in real big trouble at the end. There were some things I did not like though. In the version of the book I read there were no pictures so that didn't help me enjoy it and the end was kind of rushed. The good news is, that there are three other books of this series for me to read!

Bye bye!

The Moffats

This review is about a book named The Moffats by Eleanor Estes.

At the start of the book Jane is talking about how much she likes the yellow house her family lives in.  Then a man comes up and hangs a sign up that says FOR SALE.  Then Joe and Rufus come home and see the sign and Sylvie come out of the house and they are all sad.  Mama tries to comfort them by saying that nobody will buy it for a while.  The rest of the chapters are random adventures while they still live in the yellow house.  The last chapter is about them moving and Jane finding out that her new best friend lives next door.

I give this book 3☆s.
When I read it the fist time it was 5☆s.

It was not as good as the first time because I was reading it to myself instead of hearing it as a read aloud.  One of my dislikes about it is that Sylvie is not a main part of the story.   There are 3 other books in the series I will do those also, bye!!!

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

This book is called Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. It was written by Judy Blume.

The plot is that there is a fourth-grader named Peter Hatcher who has a little brother named Fudge. Fudge keeps on driving Peter up the wall and finally swallows Peter's pet turtle named Dribble who he got in the first chapter. In the end his parents give him a pet dog which is too big to be swallowed by Fudge. He named the dog Turtle. There are other mishaps in the book including Fudge losing his two front teeth attempting to fly, completely destroying Peter's school project, and getting poured on the head with cereal. I rate this book 4 stars. ☆☆☆☆

The book was AWESOME! The illustrations were good, the story was good, the only reason it's four stars is because I think Fudge got a little TOO much attention in the short stories. It was also kind of like Diary of a Wimpy Kid in some ways, but this book is better by far. I was also exited when I found out there was a sequel, Super Fudge, so I will be reading that soon.

Bye!

Imponderables: Why Cats Don't Like To Swim

This book is called Why Cats Don't Like To Swim.

It is a book in the series called Imponderables written by David Feldman.  There are many books in the series one is called Are Lobsters Ambidextrous.

These books say lots of pointless but cool stuff and some very important stuff.  Some answered questions are: why does Wendy's make square burgers, why do people cry during happy endings, and why don't movie theaters not make their own popcorn.

I give this book 3 stars.  I liked it because I thought it was funny. I didn't give it 5 stars because I did not like the drawings.

Also the 12th book is coming in November.

Bye.

The Phantom Tollbooth

This is a review of the Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster which is a book about a kid named Milo.

The book starts out with Milo talking about how bored he is, then he goes in his room and sees a package.  When he opens the package he finds out that it is a tollbooth for bored kids like him.  So he builds the tollbooth.

When he's done, he hops into a mini car, puts the change into the tollbooth and starts driving.  He teleports to the Kingdom of Wisdom where he finds a fork in the road.  He decides to go one way and keeps going for a couple of hours and then finds some sad people who are being attacked by the watchdog.  Milo becomes friends with the watchdog whose name is Tock.

Milo and Tock drive back to the fork and go the other way and find Dictionopolis.  They go into the marketplace and think about buying some words but then they and a guy named The Humbug get thrown in jail.  In the jail they meet a witch who tells them a story about the king of Dictionopolis and his feuding brother, the Mathemagician.  The three of them are let out of prison and go off to find the Mathemagician's house.

Then a lot of boring random stories happen and then they arrive and trick the Mathemagician
and rescue two princesses and then Milo goes home and he isn't bored anymore.

I give this book 2 and a half ☆s.

I did not like this book because it has too many random adventures and I feel like the moral of the story is you don't need friends.  I think this is a bad moral because I think you should have friends.

Big-Stamp Two-Toes the Barefoot Giant

Big-Stamp Two-Toes the barefoot giant is one of the books in the Tiptoes Lightly series written by Reg Down.

It's spring time in the forest and Tiptoes Lightly, the fairy, and Pine Cone and Pepper Pot, the gnomes, sit on their favorite rock. Then, they had the idea to ask the spirit in the rock if they could come in. The spirit said to spin really fast, clap your hands, and walk in. Once they were in, the rock spirit told them his story. He was once on a mountain and Big-Stamp Two-Toes the barefoot giant came on. The giant kicked the rock all the way down to the forest. There are a lot of other short stories but this one was the main one.

I rate this book 3 stars ☆☆☆

Review:

I think the story of the rock was good but needs some more action and was kind of bland. The other book of this series I read, The Festival of Stones, was great. Maybe I will review that one.
