The Round House

(Read: October 2012)

Heartbreaking. Incisive. Painful. With hearty laughs in between.

This was a fast read. A whodunit that pulled the scab off of generations of uneasy cultural/political/actual history. Louise Erdrich has an almost clinical ability (calm, alert, neutral) in telling/chanelling stories that contain such beauty and ugliness.

I am grateful.

I read this book, breathlessly, in two days. It has pulled me right back into her cosmology and I am thinking of rereading some of her older work.

✩✩✩✩✩ (it was amazing)
